Friday night fun.

I’m sitting here at home on a Friday night. Dogs are happy to have me here. Jesse went to NYC for the night.

I have been working on a blog allllll night. Home & Decor focused. We shall see how it goes. I am still a little skeptical of the whole blog thing. Once its ready I will post it here.

Tomorrow I think I am going to do some projects…

  • I am really looking for a small coffee table for the tv room. I can’t stand the one we have now. Getting a smaller table will not only look better it will prevent Jesse and I from eating infront of the tv. I HATE watching tv and eating at the same time. Makes me feel like a tub o’ lard.
  • Harvest some flowers. How pretty are those in the pic. They are from my front garden. I have lavender to dry and also some herbs. This year I am destined to bring in a few basil and rosemary plants. We shall see…
  • Goodwill trek- I would like to get some old pillows to cover in oil cloth to put outside. I have been in love with oil cloth since meeting Suzanne Robin.

Projects galore! Enjoy the weekend-

Airedales love tv.

Last night I had some trouble falling asleep so I put on a DVD Ihad rented. Charlotte’s Web. My husband was working on his blog so I brought all the dogs into bed with me.

Dutchess curls up at my feet and tries to pretend she is tiny. Keep in mind she is 60lbs. Salisbury sprawls out next to me and always puts his head on my stomach and literally purrs. Terrance doesn’t like to be any where near the airedale clan so he usually lays pathetically on the floor and sighs.

So, I started to movie thinking I was just going to fall asleep, but I was fascinated by Dutchess and Sals’ reactions to the talking animals. Everytime Wilbur the pig would jump around Dutch would get very interested and cock her head to the side as if to say, ‘ what the hell? a talking pig.’ Here is the pic to prove it.

She sat like that for literally an hour.

Sals fell asleep and started to snore which lulled me to sleep too.

Oranges at your desk, and a Vacay Recap– LATE

*This post is a lil late- as it was from my vacation on the 8th! I know– I need to keep up. Pics to follow soon.

Someone should really think about making oranges easier to eat at work. I always end up all sticky and dribbly and then the phone rings. Maybe this is a deeper underlying problem- perhaps I shouldn’t eat at my desk. We all do it, YOU do it too, lets be honest with one another.

This post is not all about oranges thank goodness. Just wanted to take a moment and pause and remember my day and a half vacation, to which I came back to literally 922 emails. Mostly SPAM, but still.

Friday I spent the day watching tv.

Saturday I spent the day sleeping an watching tv.

Sunday I went out with my husband to Pickity Place, in Mason, NH. A wonderful place to visit. It is the birthplace of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Complete with a museum dedicated to the book and count em’ 2 quaint country shoppes full of herbs and spices, we wandered the gardens and wished that we could afford the 16.95$ lunch that was being served right before our eyes.

With hungry bellies we went to my second residence in life, New Ipswich, NH and had a 10$ lunch near the town pool. We drove up to my old digs, which sadly has been torn down. We even visited the church where I was baptized. We then visited with my grandmother in Townsend, MA. For dinner, we had pizza.

Monday- we slept in and watched tv. Jon & Kate + 8 to be exact, and thanked our lucky stars that we only have 3 dogs and not 8 kids.

We then went to the post office and out to lunch at our favorite vegan restaurant, Buddha Hut. For a mere 4.95$ each I feasted on sweet and sour soy based chicken, and Jesse had the soy chicken and garlic with broccoli. For all you vegan/ vegetarian skeptics I encourage you to OPEN your MOUTH to this amazing cuisine. If my husband sir carnivore likes it, you just might too.

Should we paint the White House another color?

Ok -ok, title was for attention. No, I don’t think we should paint the white house another color. Might look good green though.

Alright folks, you heard about it all over the media this week. Let’s discuss… “Obama is Here” the new leak from the Ludacris mixtape. The Obama camp hates it. Lots of people hate it.

The question is, do you think its offensive? Or free speech?

For those of you who have been under a rock this week here is a recap of the debated offensive matieral:

-“Hillary hated on you, so that b^$&%* is irrelevant”

-“McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed”

-“Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped”

Personally- I believe in free speech. Its campaign season – these type of antics are bound to occur especially with such a racially charged election. I am suprised that there hasn’t been more said. The rule your mother taught you of, ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all’, doesn’t really apply…

I do enjoy the lines, ” you can’t stop what’s bout to happen, we bout to make history, the first black president is destined and it’s meant to be, the threats ain’t fazing us, the nooses or the jokes so get off your ass, black people, it’s time to get out and vote!” Its an amazing thing that could happen, something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. That said, we should not vote on race- we should vote for the better candiate. For me, that is Obama. We do need change, as cliche as it sounds- something has to give.

I was listening to Toucher and Rich on Thursday and they did bring up a good point, if Obama is elected everyone is going to petrified of making fun of the president for fear of being called a racist. It will be interesting to see. What will SNL and Mad TV do ?
